Dive into a variety of classic and contemporary musical theatre hits in this week-long camp culminating in a performance for family and friends. Campers will learn how to prepare and audition for a musical, study and memorize lines and blocking, practice music and choreography, experience hands-on costume and lighting design, and gain knowledge about musicals across the decades, all while working together as a team. Musical scenes and songs they will “play” with include: 1950’s-60’s: “The Sound of Music” 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein 1970’s: “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” 1972 Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice 1980’s: “Little Shop of Horrors” 1982 by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman 1990’s: “The Lion King” 1997 Elton John and Tim Rice 2000’s: “Hairspray” 2002 Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman Who: 8-12 year olds When: Week of March 2024, Monday-Friday Time: 9am-3pm Performance begins on Friday at 3pm Cost: $250 Lunch provided by local restaurants including: Texas Roadhouse, Mad Mushroom, Arni’s, and more!
