This class focuses on advancing your dancers technique, stage presence, strength and flexibility. This class is designed for the dancer looking to advance their dance education in a positive, encouraging environment. Dancers will improve their performance abilities in this high energy jazz, super fun tap and beautiful ballet class. Ensemble dancers will have a blast as they gain confidence and get a great workout in this 90-minute class. During ballet, students will learn longer intricate barre combinations set to classical and lyrical music and continue to focus on dancing with expression and emotion while working center floor. Dancers will learn all styles of jazz including street funk, Broadway and of course ? hip hop! High energy jazz will include a stronger focus on technique during center and extended across the floor combinations and routines.Advancing tap work will continue with fun upbeat barre combinations and work on center floor tap sequences focusing on clarity and quick transitions. This class participates in three routines in the Recital, including the featured Ensemble production routine. Attire: Leotard any style and color, tights any color, pink leather ballet shoes (no drawstring style), black leather tap shoes (slip on style) and black leather jazz shoes (slip on style). We will have pre-recorded performances of our fun class times and share them with families throughout the year. Costumes will be simple and less expensive, with less emphasis placed on a traditional large recital performance.
To help reduce fees, cash or check (payable to LPRD) is preferred. Credit cards are accepted, and a 5-month automatic payment plan is available through the Parks and Recreation office with a credit or debit card.
*We are working hard to ensure you a safe environment for the dancers to come back to. A signed waiver outlining what we are doing and what we must ask of you will be required before participation.
Last day to withdraw from classes and receive a prorated refund for the remaining classes of the year minus a $25 withdrawal fee is Friday October 30, 2020. If you do not officially withdraw from classes with Parks and Recreation by this date, you will be charged in full for your class and costume fees.
