About This Activity
Description
Crescendo, Italian for "growing," encourages and promotes students' growth at all stages of musical development. The program aims to develop well-rounded musicians, reward students' progress and set benchmarks for the advancement of musical skills.
Crescendo for Piano and Strings is a year-long program, September through June, guiding students through graded levels of repertoire, theory questions and technical work. Crescendo also encourages development of musicianship, motivates students by tracking and rewarding progress, develops performance skills, provides an opportunity outside of the private studio for professional feedback, and helps develop the student into a well-rounded musician.
Students must be enrolled in a minimum of eight hours of private instruction per semester at MacPhail. Specific requirements for each level are detailed in the handbook.

New students may join Crescendo in the Spring Semester; the cost will be prorated by half.
