The Newport News Table Tennis Club offers a personalized training program tailored to meet each student's unique needs and goals. Our comprehensive approach, which combines physical and mental training, is designed to enhance your performance on the table and improve your overall fitness. Our coaching staff will assess your skill level thoroughly and recommend a training regimen and follow-on lessons.
Physical training encompasses a range of exercises to enhance strength, endurance, flexibility, specific drills targeting footwork, hand-eye coordination, and consistency in gameplay. With a focus on pre and post-training stretch ing routines to minimize the risk of injuries and optimize performance, we're here to help you reach your full potential.
In addition to physical training, our program includes mental preparation techniques such as visualization and relaxation exercises. These techniques are about mental fortification for matches and maintaining focus and composure during games, a crucial aspect of table tennis. They are designed to enhance your overall performance and enjoyment of the game.
Consistent practice, ideally three to four times weekly, is pivotal for skill development and consistency. The Newport News Table Tennis Club offers ample opportunities for practice, games, drilling, robot training, league play, and coaching sessions on scheduled play days.
With our comprehensive table tennis training program, you can expect significant improvements in your fitness, skills, and confidence. Our coaching staff, led by the seasoned Head Coach Denzil Kendall and a team of dedicated assistant coaches, is committed to honing your abilities, no matter your current skill level. Competition paddles are provided for participant's use during lessons and practice sessions.
Equipment needed: Loose fitting clothing and non-marking footgear, preferably court shoes.
