Emmy-Winning Casting Director: ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, THE MIDDLE, JUST SHOOT ME, HOME IMPROVEMENT, STILL STANDING, LIFE WITH BONNIE, and many more Friday, March 4: 7:00-9:00 pm This will be a "Sitcom overview", describing the many varied formats of sitcom acting, casting and auditioning. When the formats are different, so are the audition and acting approaches, and Barylski will go over in in detail. Multi-camera, single-camera, and the emerging formats from the advent of digital, Barylski will spell them all out with plenty of time for industry Q&A. Saturday, March 5: 10 am - 5 pm Under 5s and Co-Stars. This day will be devoted to auditioning for small roles and employing cold reading techniques. Barylski will assign scenes and roles from various sitcoms. The morning session will be devoted to Under 5 roles. Each actor will be coached in a mock audition and will receive feedback. After lunch, actors will then work on slighter larger co-star roles, again auditioning and receiving coaching and feedback from one of the industry's leaders. At the end of the day, actors will receive larger scenes to prepare overnight. Sunday, March 6: 9 am - 3 pm Actors will perform their prepared scenes for larger guest-star sitcom roles, with more coaching and feedback. The workshop is open to intermediate and advanced actors 16 and up, and is limited to only 20 participants. Cost for the workshop is $375.
