Explore the winter landscape along the bluff and valley of the Appomattox River. Hike atop the bluff for a view of the wetlands, look for winter waterfowl and the beaver lodges, examine granite outcrops, traipse along the river, and have a snack at the old abutment dam. This is a easy-moderate 3-mile hike.
