Level: Advanced, Ball Type: High Compression, Court Size: 78?, Tournament Level: USTA Advanced, USTA Sectionals, Endorsements, Zonal or National Tournaments
Diamond is the third and final step into our Competitive Junior Pathway program and is reserved for juniors that are currently playing USTA Advanced tournaments and have a USTA ranking. All players need to be level equivalent to an advanced level of play, committed to playing USTA Sanctioned Advanced tournaments regularly, aspire to play College Tennis and are a top player on their High School Tennis Team. This class will continue working on proper stretching, dynamic warm-ups, on & off court conditioning, advanced stroke production with controlled aggression, clean transitions between offensive to defense, advanced weapon mastery, advanced point play strategies, advanced footwork and movement, continue mastery of mental toughness training and strategies for both singles and doubles tournament play. Players at this level should have a USTA Advanced Ranking, be able to utilize every stroke option and have a full commitment to tennis. Diamond includes Match Play on Fridays from 5:15-7:15pm and will also work specifically on strategic assignments from the pros, video analysis of point play and technique for stroke mastery, advanced shot selection focus to control points from both the baseline and the net.
NOTE: Match play attendance is mandatory, as match play is 75% of player development at this level. This class runs in monthly sessions and generally meets 3 times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for Match Play.
Player graduation is approximately 12 months and Pro approval is REQUIRED to move to the next level of development.
