The perfect camp for a budding artist or aspiring builder! Each morning will help campers develop an eye for the work of the masters by learning and employing the same techniques. By the end of the week, your son will have learned about five master artists and five essential techniques to employ in his or her own artistic career! Learn about the following artists: Prehistoric cave artists, Bernini, Cassatt, Matisse, Mondrian Learn about the following techniques: stencils/masks & contour drawing, sculpting faces, monotype printing, collage, geometric & abstract art Each afternoon we will explore elements of building, focusing on the essential needs of any structure. Each lesson will be accompanied with hands-on activities with materials such as blocks and Lego. Elements we will explore: columns, arches, roofs, and many more! Teacher: Mr. Peter Vitz has taught art and natural history at The Heights for 14 years. Before teaching, Mr. Vitz worked in the architecture field.
