CITs (Counselors in Training) are required to attend Outdoor Leadership camp (offered in Summer). Please call our office (919-489-0900) before registering if your child has not attended Outdoor Leadership camp, but is interested in becoming a CIT. The mud, soil, and sand all tell stories. Can you interpret their language? Join us for a tracking adventure as we learn to read the signs that animals leave behind. Working together, we’ll find clues about the lives of the animals around us. We’ll begin to unravel the stories that these animals write on the landscape through their tracks and other signs. We’ll also be learning about the soils and weather patterns of our area to help us interpret what we find. This camp will focus closely on mammal life and behaviors. We will also mimic the quiet, stealthy behavior of many mammals through games. Become a detective and help us solve the mysteries of the forest! This program allows for drop off between 7:45 am - 8:30 am. CITs are expected to stay at camp between 8:30am and 4:30pm.
