"Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior. It covers topics such as perception, communication, learning, memory, decision-making, persuasion, emotions, and social behavior. The field looks at how these aspects of the mind develop in children, how they differ across individuals, how they are wired in the brain, and how they are affected by illness and injury. To acquire knowledge, psychologists use the scientific method. This involves proposing a tentative explanation, called a hypothesis, to explain a phenomenon. Researchers then use empirical evidence to test the hypothesis and determine whether it is supported by the data. This course is the second part of the Fall Course. Students can receive high school credit for this course. " Instructor: Rebecca Fahey Dr. Beck Fahey is a skilled professional with extensive and diverse competencies. As a seasoned college professor, she has designed, created, and instructed many courses for over fifteen years, including public health, meditation, science, and business. Her most recent consulting work as an epidemiologist with the Chicago Department of Public Health involved integrating software systems into disease investigations during the pandemic, improving case investigations and overall data quality. Dr. Fahey's desire to work with clients to improve their health, relationships, careers, and families led her to become an Integrative Nutrition health coach. She is eager to impart her knowledge of science and holistic health techniques to broaden your perspective on science, health, and wellness.
