Description
This American Red Cross course is a combination of Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Administering Emergency Oxygen and First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22). This complete course provides all certifications necessary to obtain employment as a lifeguard in the State of California. Prerequisites: Swim-Tread-Swim sequence (Swim 150 yards, it cannot be on your side or back and goggle are allowed, then tread water for 2 minutes only using legs lastly finish with another 50 yards.) and the Timed event (must be completed in 1 minute and 40 seconds. Begin with a 20-yard swim, no goggles, then surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet and retrieve a 10lb object. Swim another 20 yards on your back holding the object and your face out of the water. Exist the pool without using a ladder or steps). *This class requires 7 hours of online course work before the first day of class.
