Learn the fundamentals of soccer while improving motor skills, awareness, and social distancing! Youth will participate in 2.5-hour clinics at the Arlington Heights Sports Park soccer fields in cohorts no larger than 10. All participants will receive their own soccer, cones and drawstring bags to use during the clinic. All soccer clinics will be duplicates and will include the same basic instructions and equipment.
Clinics will practice safe social distancing and proper PPE usage will be demonstrated. All participants will be required to wear athletic attire and bring their own water. No spectators will be allowed during clinic. The clinics will consist of mental and physical health information as it relates to COVID-19. Program information will focus on praising healthy hand washing habits, maintaining mental and physical fitness, healthy eating habits and sports development. Series will include collaboration with health & Wellness non-profits vendors offering information to combat COVID-19.
Participants will receive activity kits with equipment to use during the clinic and to take home; promoting physical activity and help reduce the psychological impact of self-isolation.
This program is made available through the CARES Act. Enrolling in this program is free of charge. CARES Act programs give access to quality programming to expand the educational opportunities and develop community engagement to help reduce the impact of COVID-19.
