Mountain Bike Development Camp provides intermediate to advanced mtb skills development and daily mtb rides. Skills coaching includes efficient climbing and descending, technical trail riding, obstacle avoidance and jumps/drops, gearing selection and pedaling cadence, bike maintenance and trail-side repair, group riding techniques and etiquette, and how to have loads of fun shredding the trails of SF and beyond! MTB Development Camps are for older, more experienced riders. Daily mtb rides on the trails of SF and Marin Headlands. Level 6 & high Level 5 riders only; entering grades 6 – 9. See skills categories descriptions at https://wheelkids.com/faq/rider-skill-categories/ Participating cyclists must be very comfortable on their bikes and have the skills and mental focus required to ride on off-road trails and city streets for long distances and handle a variety of different riding surfaces and conditions: streets, regional roads, fire roads, technical singletrack, and multi-use paths; long/moderate or short/steep climbs; the potential for 20+ miles daily; and periodic need to carry bikes up/down stairs or other obstacles.
