This beginner class is designed to encourage whole-body exercise, including development in strength, flexibility and coordination. Students will learn basic gymnastics skills including cartwheels, handstands, bridge kickovers, balancing, running, jumping, leaping and agility movements. Classes will open with warm-ups and stretching, teaching students the importance of flexibility. Ms. Yao currently teaches high school Mandarin at Convent & Stuart Hall and has taught many gymnastic classes in the after school and summer programs.
