About this event

Description

We're sorry, but this class is over. The last meeting was Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Saxophone Ensemble plans to meet both in-person and online for Winter Term! More information to come.
This class will provide exposure to a wide variety of chamber ensemble music for the saxophone as well an opportunity for students to develop musical interaction skills in a small group/chamber ensemble setting. The music literature we will study is from a vast array of sax quartet music including baroque, classical, contemporary and jazz traditions. Available music is adapted from or originally written for saxophone by composers such as JS Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Debussy, Ellington, Joplin, Mancini, Williams, Stalling, Nestico and others. Class size may vary from 4 to 12 members with a balance among soprano, alto, tenor and baritone sax. This is an intermediate - advanced group with a suggested 3+ years playing experience.
In Person Attendance Procedures:
Unless restricted by state or government restrictions, the class will be held in person.
Those attending in person will be required to:
  • Fill out our one time waiver. Waiver will be provided at first session.
  • Provide proof of vaccination. Exemptions may be made for health and religious reasons.
    • Those exempted will be required to provide a negative test with 48 hours of entering Music Center for each visit. Please contact office@musiccenternw.org with questions regarding exemptions.
