The Virtual Protest Songs Project is a way for all of us to engage with famous protest songs written in a groove based style. You’ll also learn the historical significance of each artist featured, and the protest story they tell in their song. SCHEDULE Level 2—2-3 years on instrument February 6 - April 10 (10 weeks) Saturdays 10:00AM - 12:00PM At the end of the program, you’ll be invited to contribute a video of you playing your parts to be included in a final group video (optional) This program will also end with a socially-distanced, outdoors jam session, which is optional to attend. The jam session will adhere to Washington State Department of Health guidelines. If events change such that the state advises against such outside gatherings, we'll cancel or reschedule. PLATFORM Zoom class links will be emailed. JazzED will provide digital sheet music and backing track for every student, every instrument. Vocalists welcome: lyrics and/or scat for each song. Please note classes are NOT recorded, so be sure to show up! SLIDING SCALE TUITION + REGISTRATION We are committed to this program being financially accessible for ALL families. We know this is a financially stressful time for many families. Please pay only what you can afford. If you'd like to pay a different sliding scale amount than the options here, contact robert@seattlejazzed.org for a custom tuition code. You’ll have the option of entering a sliding scale tuition code on the registration check-out page. Be sure to select the payment plan option if you want to break your payments up.
