Bio and intro Creative Dance : Movement, music, and drama merge into one in this new club offered by music and dance instructor, Carol Pharo. Ms. Pharo studied Creative Dance in the studio of Betty Jane Dittmar and the Strawberry Hill Camp for the Creative Arts. With an emphasis on student-initiated stories and themes, the program will include live music, costumes, props, and movement techniques borrowing from ballet, modern dance, historical dance, jazz, yoga, and gyrokinesis. Individual creativity is promoted above technical development. All ages and levels are guaranteed to have lots of fun! Carol Pharo, trained in ballet and modern dance with teachers in the U.S., England, and The Netherlands. She has a Licentiate Diploma in Historical Dance from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and a Masters in Harpsichord and Historical Dance from New England Conservatory. Ms. Pharo is also certified as an instructor for the Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis movement systems, which have been very influential in her approach to training young dancers. Ms. Pharo trained children for Royal Academy of Dancing (R.A.D.) examinations in The Netherlands, and is eager to bring R.A.D. training to her classes at YSCP.
