The Ah Haa School for the arts provides a safe, positive and inspiring environment for children to stretch their imaginations and push their creative boundaries. Using a variety of materials and talented instructors, we aim to provide new experiences that go beyond what might be explored at home or in school. Telluride Figure Skating Club offers two programs geared toward teaching students the fundamentals of figure skating or hockey skating. All ability levels are welcome! FIGURE SKATING The program will help students to build coordination, strength and balance while learning the fundamentals of forward and backward skating, stops, crossovers, tricks and turns. This curriculum will follow the USFSA Basic Skills, Snowplow Sam and Basic 8 Skills development progressions. HOCKEY This curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. In four badge levels, skaters will learn to move faster and be more agile on the ice. All elements will be taught with-out a stick or puck, as proper skating techniques are the primary focus of the levels. Skaters will learn the necessary fundamentals to be successful in game situations.
