Has your child had the opportunity to learn basic computer coding skills? Have they experienced the joy of completing a circuit and seeing an LED bulb light up? Have they played with robots, programming them to perform specific tasks and to solve problems? These skills have never been more accessible for K-2 students as many apps and robots have been designed specifically for them! In this class, Mr. Devoto will spark (or continue to fuel) your child's interest in computer programming, circuitry, and robotics! Using several different block-based programming apps, they will learn how to code simple animations, stories, and games. They will playfully construct circuits and play with robots. There will be many opportunities to follow their curiosity and to unleash their creative potential. A fun, collaborative environment will provide the structure and guidance for students to work at their own pace.
This class is designed with the beginner in mind as well as students who took Computer Programming & Robotics class in the fall.
Mr. Devoto is currently serving as Math TOSA for the Reed Union District, has a Masters in Education, Media Design & Technology, and is an Apple Distinguished Educator.
