About This Activity
No one truly plans to be in a survival situation. Whether or not you find yourself in such a situation, Wa-Ya’s survival camps will build confidence in your abilities to thrive and fend for yourself in the wild. Knowing how to build shelters and start a fire is foundational to surviving in the wild. In Survival 1 we also study fire ecology, search for signs of fire in our forest, and cover Leave No Trace (LNT) principles and safety. When we are not shelter building and learning about fires, we will be exploring the forest- using scientific methods to pursue our curiosities. Fire is a powerful, magical force which begs our deepest respect. What do you love about fire? Sidle up to the fire, tell us your story.
