About This Activity
Taught by Coach Jay and Mr. Romano Chess is not just a game, it’s for life! Total beginners and less experienced players are encouraged to join the Chess Team on Mondays. Coach Jay and his team, as well as Mr. Romano, introduce the dynamic game to the rookies and develop the fundamentals for those with some experience. Each student will receive individualized instruction that will include engaging lessons, leveled Puzzle Packs and their own Chess Passport, where they will earn fun stickers that reflect their growth. Materials included! We are excited to welcome 5th and 6th-grade volunteers, free of charge. Please check in with the after school team, Mr. Romano and Coach Jay for approval by contacting afterschool@laurenceschool.com to enroll in this class.
