About This Activity
Who: individuals with autism who are in the third grade and older What: GonnawannaCODEagin'- Join FACT for our first ever Intro to Computer Coding Class! This is an 8-week program designed to introduce the basics of computer coding and programming. Each session will explore communication, teamwork, and steps on how to create and design a basic program using algorithms and different coding processes. Where: Heritage United Methodist Church 815 Baker Rd Virginia Beach, VA 23462 When: Every Monday evening from 6:00-7:30pm (January 10-February 28) WE WILL HAVE CLASS ON 1/17 AND 2/21 How: There are two options to participating: 1) On-Site= FACT will provide hand-over-hand assistance, internet, and the instructor. 2) Virtually= FACT will NOT provide internet or hand-over-hand assistance. You will participate via zoom with our instructor for each session. For either option = FACT WILL NOT PROVIDE A COMPUTER / TABLET- YOU MUST BRING/USE YOUR OWN ELECTRONICE DEVICE. The Class Outline will be as follows: Class 1- Introduction to the software / game design Class 2- Designing a Character Class 3- Designing a Background Class 4- Adding Dialogue and Sound Effects Class 5- Adding music and recording your game Class 6-8 Learn to play / code additional games
