The U.S. Kids Golf Early Start Program is a proven method to introduce golf to young players ages 6 and under. The program has a maximum student to instructor ratio of 6:1 and around age 6 or 7 your child will be ready for the next stage in the learning process, the Level 1 Instructional Booklet. The Early Start booklet provides the framework for both coaches and parents. The booklet emphasizes choosing the proper equipment and having fun putting, having fun chipping, having fun making a full swing, having fun on the range, and having fun on the golf course. We will work on their basic fundamentals, however at this age we provide minimum instruction and let your child do what comes naturally first. We focus on encouraging and affirming the fun your child is having. Encouraging words are far more important than swing instruction at this age. We want them to HAVE FUN!! The first day of class, each student will receive a hat and a Waterloo Junior Morning Pass. After the student advances out of the Early Start Program they may enter Level 1. Classes will run 8 weeks and cost $65. Nate Lubs, Head PGA Professional at Gates Park Golf Course, is a U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coach and an expert in teaching golf to kids ages 12 and under. He makes learning fun by using game-based teaching methods and playing from scaled yardages on the golf course.
