The West Fargo Park District is excited to offer a Youth Baseball Program on the new indoor turf at the Rustad Recreation Center. Space is limited in the Baseball and T-ball programs, so be sure to register early. The early registration deadline is January 24. After the registration deadline fees will increase.Please request an appropriate t-shirt size for your child. We will not have extra shirts to exchange.
Team schedules will be emailed and posted online at wfparks.org by February 24. Team rosters will be assigned according to school attending, please specify the school your child attends or will be attending. Girls and boys will play together. Siblings will only be grouped together if requested on registration form or in notes section for online registration.
During the first two sessions, T-ball players will focus on skill development and the rules of the game
Players should bring their own baseball glove with them to practice every day. Bats and helmets will be provided if you do not have your own. If a parent would like a helmet worn on their child, please bring your own helmet. Molded cleats or tennis shoes only are allowed on the turf.
Modified TballThis beginner league for boys and girls focuses on learning the basic fundamentals of baseball. Qualified Park District staff will coach players on the proper techniques of throwing, fielding, running bases and batting through this 6-session program. In this league, coaches will pitch three balls front toss to the batters and if the batter does not hit the ball after three pitches, a tee will be used. The use of helmets is required. We strongly recommend for hygienic reasons; you bring your own helmet labeled with your child’s name. If you don’t have a helmet, helmets will be provided by the West Fargo Park District. Register according to elementary school they plan to attend in 1st grade.
