An exciting hands-on program where kids explore STEM concepts by building working machines using blocks and motorized kits. Designed for curious minds ages 6–12, our weekly sessions blend creativity, teamwork, and engineering fun. No prior experience or supplies needed—everything is provided. Ideal for beginners, and every child takes home skills in science, motion, gears, and innovation!
Each session includes easy-to-follow instruction booklets, guided learning, and a themed engineering journal. At the end of the program, every child will proudly take home their custom Young Engineers T-shirt and journal as a memory of what they built and learned!
There is a One-Time Material Fee of $30 separate from the registration fee which is paid directly to the instructor on the first class. This material fee covers the cost of a printed T-shirt + Worksheets + personal journal, for participants to take home.
- Participants will build and operate 4–6 STEM-based mechanical models by the end of the session.
- Students will demonstrate understanding of 3 basic engineering principles (e.g., gear systems, levers, pulleys).
- Students will collaborate in small teams to design or modify a model for a challenge activity.
This class is instructed by Swathi of Young Engineers. See more details at youngengineers.org
