On Saturday, April 30, the YMCA plans to help families start healthy habits before summer starts with its Healthy Kids Day. The 25th annual event is a national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids.
More than 1,300 YMCA locations host free physical and educational activities for kids every year on Healthy Kids Day. Take a look at what the Y has in store and find a participating location near you to get in on the fun.
New York City
1 of 6Kids in NYC can take part in Healthy Kids Day activities at YMCA locations in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. With 23 participating YMCAs in the New York City area, there are way too many activities going on to list here.
Los Angeles
2 of 6Out on the West coast several locations will have obstacle courses, bounce houses and live entertainment. Many locations will also have free medical screenings for the whole family and healthy eating cooking demonstrations.
Chicago
3 of 6There's no shortage of Healthy Kids Day activities planned for the Windy City. Two locations will be holding their Healthy Kids Day festivities on Friday, April 29 while 18 other YMCAs will be celebrating on Saturday; so if you plan accordingly in Chicago, you can make it a Healthy Kids Weekend.
Dallas
4 of 6Everything's bigger in Texas, and the same goes for Healthy Kids Day. Whether your kid likes to run, jump, climb, or dance, one of the Dallas-area's 20 participating YMCAs is sure to have something they'll enjoy.
