Youth sports are great for kids. They provide regular exercise, teach skills that can be enjoyed for a lifetime and build a sense of community. But for parents, youth sports mean early weekend mornings, busy weekday evenings and hours spent looking for missing equipment. Plus, we pay actual money to experience it all.
Don't get us wrong; we love watching our kids play and we're thankful for the coaches who have committed even more time to the process, usually as volunteers. They are the true heroes. We're glad our kids have the opportunity to play sports, but we're still hoping for rain.
