Survival Skills Camp - 2AM

LeTourneau University • 2100 S. Mobberly Kielhorn Welding Engineering Laboratory LongviewTX  75602 Organized by LETU

About this event

You find yourself in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the clothes you are wearing and the things in your pocket. What do you do first? Campers will learn how to manage emergency and survival situations with the skills we learn through the week. We will cover priorities of work in a survival situation such as: basic first aid techniques (no certifications will be provided), building a basic shelter, building a fire, finding safe water and food, how to signal for help and how to navigate. We will have a group competition at the end of the week to challenge the skills learned during the week. Each camper will leave the week with a bag FULL of survival supplies. This camp will take place primarily outdoors and will involve outdoor walking and activities. Tennis shoes and socks required! Director: Ruedi Schubarth (LETU Aviation Professor)
