Description
We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Monday, April 22, 2024.
CodeFu students embark on a journey to become programming experts by learning the front & back-end of video game design, app development, robotics and more! Whether they’re learning block based code or more advanced languages such as Python, HTML, JS etc., our students will have created a number of different challenging games & programs throughout their coding journey as they progress our Grasshopper, Apprentice, and Sifu levels.During our SPRING CodeFu Game Design Dojo students will develop their very own 13-bit full scale video game! This class unlocks creative expression empowering students with limitless imagination and conquering coding skills through easy implementation. They will begin by constructing their game's layout then use animated frames to Design, Customize and Configure every element in their game from backgrounds to transformative power-ups to heroes & enemies. (Think: Mario, Sonic, or Pokemon!!) Students build increasingly important tech skills they can use to create, code, and innovate their way to future readiness!
Through the design thinking process students combine art, animation, design and logic to establish the basic coding principles: Events, Conditionals, Data, Testing, Debugging, Decomposition.
Upon completion of the program students' games will be uploaded to a public (safe) arcade store for the world to enjoy!! (Games may be accessed and played on a tablet or PC browser.)
