Instructor: Dr. Allison Hamilton has worked on elections and has taught political science courses for over 20 years. She is currently the executive director of Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness in Aiken, SC, and teaches political science for Middle Georgia State University. Dr. Hamilton has a doctorate in Political Science from the University of Iowa. Description: This course will spend the weeks leading up to the general election looking at the polling data, expected outcomes, and why the electoral process is how it is. After the election, the session will consist of a debrief- what happened compared to expectations, what the results mean, and consider the ‘next steps’ to formally finalize the results. What will the government look like in 2027? While all are welcome, this course will remain respectful and will not tolerate any disruptive/disrespectful language or behavior.
