Street Skills Camp coaches kids on safe and legal road riding through fun games, challenges and riding adventures around the island. We're more than a fun bike safety camp, we do individualized coaching with each bike rider to help them advance his skills on bikes and understand traffic laws, communicate with drivers for safest, predictable riding habits. Kids have fun and gain transportation independence! High Visibility Bike vest included. Monday: Meet by Lum Blacktop.Helmet fit, Bike safety check, Bike Skills practice with games and challenges on blacktop, games & lunch at the park, bike lock demo & practice, short fun ride. Day ends Tuesday-Thursday Lincoln Park: Practicing using gears, 4-way stop intersection practice of right of way with car traffic on Bay Farm. Alameda Amazing Race using bike maps, Rides to schools, practice locking at school and Park St. bike racks, Scavenger hunt. REQUIREMENTS 1. Campers must be fully vaccinated for Covid19. 2. Child and parent/guardian MUST attend a free Urban Cycling zoom presentation together. dates will be sent out by March. Kids won't be able eligible to attend camp without attending this requirement and there are NO REFUNDS. Please plan ahead. 3. Parents/guardians, call your bike shop to find out when you can your son with his bike and helmet to visit a bike shop for fit and mechanic/safety and fit check. Mechanic safety and fit checks MUST be completed no earlier than 6 weeks before the first day of camp and no later than 3 weeks before the first day of camp. 4. Kids must bring all items on equipment list or purchase available items from Easy Street Cycling. Required items: * Mask * Hand sanitizer * Sunblock * U-lock OR Heavy Chain * Looped end cable * Water bottle mounted or Camelbak * Kickstand mounted on the bike * Spare tube in case of unpatchable flat
