About This Activity

Step into the world of fashion like never before—this is RUNWAY RIOT, where teens take control of the design process, experiment fearlessly, and create bold, wearable art that’s all their own. Led by Heather Ashberry of Beatrice Wormwood Ink, this hands-on camp is a crash course in fashion design with a twist: printmaking, fabric manipulation, and boundary-pushing creativity. Throughout the week, campers tackle exciting, unconventional challenges inspired by real-world fashion, exploring pattern, form, and function while mastering techniques like fabric painting, weaving, dyeing, block printing, and screen printing. There’s no “right” way to design here—just ideas, experimentation, and fearless self-expression. By the end of the week, every participant will have one-of-a-kind creations that shows off their skills, style, and personality. This isn’t just camp—it’s your personal runway, your design lab, and your chance to shake up the world of fashion. Creativity required. Rules optional. Style mandatory.
