About This Activity
Designed as a fun, hands-on workshop for adults, this two-hour introduction to sewing is also a great opportunity to create alongside your child or teen in 6th grade or older. Participants will learn the fundamentals of both machine and hand stitching while creating an irresistibly fabulous fabric froggy to take home. Along the way, we’ll explore essential sewing skills including cutting and preparing fabric, seam allowances, backstitching, clipping, embroidery, embellishment, and more. All supplies are provided, so no previous sewing experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and creativity. Participants are also welcome to bring 1/3–1/2 yard of quilting cotton in a favorite color or pattern to personalize their project.
