About This Activity

There is much more to the study of geography than simply knowing where things are in the world. Challenging, problem-solving games and hands-on craft projects allow students to experience geography as a systems study - interweaving the themes of location, place, human interaction with the environment, movement, and region. The class will also include a deep dive into Chinese culture. Geography bees will provide an opportunity for students to utilize their newly gained knowledge, and viewing selected episodes of The Human Planet video series will deepen student knowledge of human adaptation to various ecosystems. Each student who completes five treasure hunts earns a surprise treasure during the final week of class.
