Plug in and play! In this dynamic new summer class, middle school string players will explore improvisation, chords, and soloing while playing electric violin, viola, cello, or bass in a collaborative orchestra setting. Through guided improvisations and creative activities, students will build confidence, learn to listen and respond musically, and experiment with new sounds beyond the printed page. Styles may include rock and pop music, along with orchestral music. Requirements: At least one year of school orchestra experience or private lessons, plus some basic sheet music literacy. Electric instruments provided. Students must bring their own acoustic string instruments for this class.
