In this class, students will get exposure to the mechanical engineering profession and what it entails. Students will also learn about projectile motion and engineering dynamics while designing through computer simulations, building, and testing wooden model catapults (projectile throwers). This class is a combination of theory and application with calculations of projectile motion and hands-on work, so an understanding of how to solve equations and basic trigonometry is strongly recommended. Prerequisite: Students must have taken Algebra 1 and have a basic understanding of trigonometry to enroll in this class.
