In this class, students will get exposure to the civil engineering profession and what it entails. Students will also learn about vectors, forces, and engineering statics while designing through computer simulations, building, and testing wooden model bridges. This class is a combination of theory and application with calculations using vectors and hands-on work, so an understanding of how to solve a system of linear equations is strongly recommended, although it will be briefly covered, along with some basic trigonometry. Prerequisite: Students must have taken Algebra 1 to enroll in this class.
