About This Activity
Using steel-drum pans, students will learn traditional calypso music and non-traditional music like pop, rock, jazz, and classical. There are several positions in the band ranging from easy to challenging, so students will have lots of fun no matter their experience level! Learning will be done through rote and traditional music notation, although music-reading knowledge is not required. Instruments will be provided.
