About This Activity
In this class for students working above grade level, students will use hands-on manipulatives to learn essential algebraic concepts and begin to solve algebraic linear equations in a game-like manner similar to chess. They will learn about variables, simplifying equations, addition and subtraction of positive and negative integers, the distributive property, the additive identity property, the property of additive inverses, and the addition and subtraction property of equality. Prerequisite: It is recommended that students have taken at least one summer of Hands-On Equations 1 at Think Summer to enroll in this class.
