One Credit Course. Prerequisite: Algebra I. The Geometry course includes an in-depth analysis of plane, solid, and coordinate geometry as they relate to both abstract mathematical concepts as well as real-world problem situations. Students will focus on the properties of lines and angles. They will perform translations and apply theorems to shapes. Students will forge connections between mathematical topics and gain many powerful tools to help negotiate logic problems and proofs, all of which will improve problem-solving skills. Students will also study the properties of polygons, circles, and three-dimensional figures. They'll apply theorems and trigonometric ratios to shapes and discover how relevant geometry is to everyday life by exploring practical applications.
