ILLUSTRATION & STORY FOUNDATIONS for HOMESCHOOLERS with Stephen Jones
This course offers a structured exploration of the fundamentals of visual storytelling. Students will develop drawing skills—focusing on shape, expression, and composition—while learning how to craft meaningful narratives through character development, plot structure, and theme.
A key component of the class is the Hero’s Journey, a time-tested framework that helps students understand story arc and transformation. Through analysis, guided exercises, and original projects, students will build a strong foundation in both illustration and story, gaining the tools to bring their ideas to life with clarity and intention.
