Critically acclaimed playwright, author, actor, director, and filmmaker John B. Ruane is conducting Improvisation Workshops in conjunction with the Alpharetta Arts Center. Ruane trained and performed for two years at the world-famous Second City Theater Training Center in Chicago. He then went on to write and perform with the Chi-Town Players sketch comedy/improv troupe. Students will learn how to improvise, creating a scene out of thin air. Improvisation helps students gain confidence and allows their creativity and intelligence to pour through as they stand on a stage listening, reacting, and responding to the other actors working with them to create scenes together. This is a 4-week session, with a 2-hour workshop held twice a week. Students who move on to continue with Level 2 workshops will get a chance to perform an Improvisational Show for friends and families. This is a fun and positive experience!Note: Students who complete Level 5 training will receive a Certificate of Improvisational ExcellenceAge Group
