Learn how to use a pottery wheel to throw functional artwork, such as vases, mugs, bowls, and plates! Demonstrations will cover wedging, centering, throwing, and trimming techniques. Students will also learn about the kiln firing process. A ceramics studio tech will apply glaze to the finished student artwork prior to firing the finished pieces in the kiln. On the last day of class, students will be given several glaze options to choose from and may select the glaze of their choice. Returning students will continue to practice and refine their throwing skills with feedback and guidance from the instructor. All supplies are included. Please note:
Independent studio time is not included in Teen Wheelthrowing courses. Students should plan to attend each session of class to allow for complete and finished projects. No refunds, pro-ration, or make-up sessions will be provided due to missed class sessions for any reason, including illness and unexpected life events. Please allow 4 weeks or more for work to be processed and fired in the kiln. Participants will receive an email notification when projects are ready for pick-up.
