Grades: 3rd–7th. Explore Lippan art, the traditional mud-relief mural art from Gujarat, India. Lippan art is used to embellish interior and exterior walls and incorporates mirrors to create beautiful, textured designs. Learn to create two wall pieces using clay, natural materials, and vibrant colors while developing artistic confidence. Each day will include step-by-step guidance, hands-on creation, and opportunities to experiment with patterns, textures, and mirror embellishments. Instructor: Namrata Khemka - born and raised in India, Namrata brings her passion for traditional Indian art to the classroom. With years of experience teaching art to students of all ages, she loves sharing cultural art forms in a fun, hands-on way. 4 classes.
Goals:
* Introduce students to a unique, cultural art form.
* Encourage creativity, patience, and teamwork.
* Allow students to take home their own Lippan-inspired wall pieces.
