About This Activity
Description
Ages 11 - 14. Rowing’s enormous potential to have a positive impact on young athletes has made it one of the fastest-growing high school sports in the country. It is built around a commitment to teamwork - members of a crew learn to trust each other and work in unison, often forging strong and meaningful friendships in the process. Three local high schools offer rowing programs: Pioneer, Skyline, and Huron. Our middle school camps facilitate both an introduction to the sport and an opportunity to prepare for high school rowing. Each camp will focus on safety, fun, and whole-athlete development to maximize the experience for each participant. All camps will be held on the Concordia University Campus (see “More Information” for details). We encourage all middle schoolers to take advantage of Ann Arbor’s amazing natural resources, while learning a new sport and making new friends! Instructor: Kit Bennett, Director of Washtenaw Rowing Center and Head Coach of Skyline High School Rowing Team. Monday - Friday.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure your child's Rec & Ed Account is up to date!
