About This Activity
In this class, both adult caregivers and children (Ages 8-18) will experience the magic of creating clay forms on the wheel. Adult caregivers and children will work on their own pottery wheels while learning together and sharing the wonderfully tactile adventure of creating functional and decorative objects out of clay! Students will learn the basics of wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, surface decorating, and glazing. A portion of each class session will be devoted to instruction, demos, and clean-up. The last several sessions will involve trimming, finalizing projects, and glazing. Come with a playful spirit and wear clothes you do not mind getting messy! All children must be 8-18 years old. Adults must be 18 or older. The A2AC does not make exceptions to the age minimum for any reason. 1 REGISTRATION COVERS INSTRUCTION & SUPPLIES FOR BOTH 1 CHILD & 1 ADULT. Please register your child for the course and then include the adult caregiver’s name in the registration notes. Please note: Instruction will be provided for the same registered child accompanied by the same adult for each class. We understand from time to time a different adult may need to accompany a child to class. Due to the progressive nature of throwing lessons and the amount of time it takes to catch up new and different adult students, we are unable to provide instruction to a substitute adult in these circumstances . However, we absolutely welcome them to accompany the child to class, view all the fun, and cheer on their kiddo!
