Grades: 1st-5th. Join the Nutty Scientists for our science enrichment program with a focus on finding the magic in things we use every day! Spend quality time doing fun, hands-on experiments that teach how science makes our ordinary life more exciting. Towards the end of each class, enjoy structured, creativity-based build time. Building materials such as plus plus blocks will be provided, or you will be given the opportunity to draw designs, play math games, read, or participate in movement activities. Instructor: Nutty Scientists staff. 6 classes. No class 2/13.
Science Portion of Each Week (in no particular order):
Wonders of Water - Defy the laws of physics with some crazy experiments with H2O!
Amazing Air - Learn about how the air we breathe can do some unusual things. Discover Bernoulli’s principle, make wind tunnels, and even make things fly!
Atoms, Molecules & Polymers - Create our own molecules, use our Elsa powers to FREEZE water, and explore magical properties of polymers!
Ooey Gooey SLIME! - Learn about how this fun substance is made, states of matter, and experiment with ways to make it even more exciting! This take home will be handed directly to grown-ups at pick up.
Optical Illusions - Is that magic or are my eyes playing tricks on me? Explore how the brain can alter how you see things.
Center of Gravity - You’ve heard of gravity, but now dig deeper and check out some experiments that really test your balance!
