Description
Grades: 3rd-5th. Ready for a hands-on 3D adventure? Learn the hardware and software needed for 3D printing as well as the basics of Tinkercad. Have fun finding and modifying models before designing your own custom keychains, bubble wands, and other projects that you’ll be proud to take home. Along the way, practice problem-solving and STEM skills in a creative, supportive environment. Instructor: Meredith Nickerson. 8 classes. No class 9/28 and 10/12.
Class 1: Introduction to 3D printing - Hardware and Software
Class 2: Finding, prepping, and slicing 3D models for printing
Class 3: Tinkercad design - Create a custom keychain
Class 4: Tinkercad design - Create a custom bubblewand
Class 5: Tinkercad design - Create a custom name ring (focus on precise measurements)
Class 6: Tinkercad design - Create a custom board game, dice & pawns
Class 7: Tinkercad design - Create a custom board game - gameboard design
Class 8: Project wrap up
