About This Activity
Study the lives, styles and vocabulary of eight legendary choreographers that shaped Broadway Dance as we know it! Learn a new combination of original (and iconic) Broadway choreography each week and get ready to nail your next Broadway dance call, no matter what your current level of dance. Class 1 – Jan. 9th: Tommy Tunes (Nine, The Will Rogers Follies, and more!) Class 2 – Jan. 16th: Bill T Jones (Fela!, Spring Awakening, and more!) Class 3 – Jan. 23rd: Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray, Legally Blonde, and more!) Class 4 – Jan. 30th: Twyla Tharp (Movin’ Out, Come Fly Away, and more!) Class 5 – Feb. 6th: Rob Ashford (Thoroughly Modern Millie) & Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes) Class 6 – Feb. 20th: Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton) & Sergio Trujillo (Ain’t Too Proud) This series is open to all interested participants without the need to audition! Two Dance Levels Available: 2:00- 3:30pm Class: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate Level Dancers (For singer/actors who “move well” but are serious about improving their dance skills). 4:00- 5:30pm Class: Intermediate to Advanced Level Dancers You are currently registering for the 4:00pm Class. Please return to the active cart if you'd like to register for the 2:00pm class. If you must miss a class one week, you may ask permission to make up the class at the alternative time.
