Ages 10-17. Unlock your inner producer at the Halle Cultural Arts Center! Geared toward creative kids and teens, this four-week course teaches the essentials of modern music production using MPC beats, a powerful and free digital audio workstation (DAW). Students will master the fundamentals of drum programming, melody creation, and song arrangement - walking away with their very own original tracks. Limited to 14 participants.
*PLEASE NOTE* Participants are asked to bring their own computer or tablet, and headphones.
Course Highlights:
- Week 1: Introduction to the MPC layout, drum sequencing, and rhythm basics.
- Week 2: Crafting melodies, basslines, and working with virtual instruments.
- Week 3: Sampling techniques, audio effects, and building song structures.
- Week 4: Mixing essentials, polishing tracks, and a final listening showcase.
